(Họ đã không mong đợi được mới tới bữa tiệc sinh nhật của cô ta.)

She likes to be invited to parties.

(Cô ta thích được mời đi dự tiệc.)

He dislikes being woken up early on Sundays.

(Anh ta ghét bị đánh thức sớm vào mỗi chúa nhật.)

They’ve mentioned being stolen a big sum of money.

(Họ đã đề cập đến việc bị ăn trộm một số tiền lớn.)

Khi muốn nói đến hành động trong infinitive và gerund đã xảy ra trước hành           động của động từ chính.

to have + past participle (Ved/V3)

having + past participle (Ved/V3)

She seems to have told him off.

(Cô ta dường như đã chửi anh ta. – hành động tell off xảy ra trước seem)

They claimed to have gone to the party.

(Họ khẳng định đã đến buổi tiệc đó. – hành động đi đến buổi tiệc đã xảy ra trước hành động khẳng định.)

They discussed having had the good offers.

(Họ thảo luận về việc đã có những đề nghị tốt.)

He mentioned having stolen a car.

(Hắn đề cập tới việc đã ăn cắp một cái xe hơi.)

(Họ đã thảo luận về việc đã bị lấy cắp tiền.)

She is talking about having been offered a good job.

(Cô ta đang nói về việc đã được đề nghị một công việc tốt.)
