(+)  Simple verb (nguyên mẫu) + object (danh từ)

(-)   Don’t + simple verb + object

Để lịch sự chúng ta thêm ‘please’ đầu câu hoặc cuối câu

Please open the door.

(làm ơn mở cửa dùm.)

Close the door, please.

(vui lòng đóng cửa dùm.)

Be on time.

(Hãy đúng giờ.)

Don’t be late.

(Đừng có trễ đó.)

Chúng ta sử dụng câu mệnh lệnh khi muốn đưa ra những hướng dẫn, mệnh lệnh, hoặc yêu cầu. Đối tượng nghe được hiểu ngầm là ‘you’ (người đang nghe)

            (you) Turn left at the first traffic lights.

(Quẹo trái tại đèn xanh đèn đỏ thứ nhất. – câu hướng dẫn)

            (you) Be careful with the vase.

(Cận thận cái bình đó. – câu mệnh lệnh)

            (you) Shut the window, please.

(Đóng cái cửa sổ đó dùm. – câu yêu cầu)

1.You want your sister to take you to the airport.

Take me to the airport, please.

2. You want your friend to give you an apple.

3. You feel hot in the living room, and all the windows aren’t open.

4. You want your brothers to keep quiet because you are trying to study.

5. You want a friend of yours to hand you a pen.

6. You want to ask a waiter for a cup of coffee in a café.

7. Some friends are at your home, and you want them to sit down.

8. You have finished your dinner, and you want your sister to clean the table for you.

9. You’re in a bookshop, and you want your mom to buy you some comics.

10. You want your dad to give you some money to buy candy.
